Parties to An Adoption
Connecticut Who May Adopt Statute: §§ 45a-724; 45a-726a; 45a-732 Any adult person may adopt, with the following stipulations: • The sexual orientation of the adopter may be considered when placing a child. • The Commissioner is not required to place a child with a person who is homosexual or bisexual. • A husband and wife must adopt jointly unless excepted by the court.
